Birthday Trip

This year Daniel said that he'd rather visit the Lego Store in Atlanta than have a birthday party.

We drove to Atlanta on Saturday morning, had lunch, and went to the Lego Store where Daniel bought the 2000+ piece Emporium. He then carried the huge package to the car, and kept it with him rather than in the back, for the rest of the trip.

Next we drove to the American Girl store, where Emily spent some of her money.

Then out to dinner, and swimming at the hotel pool. We stayed the night for free using points from all of Eddie's travel.
On Sunday we went to North Point Church and then drove home.

9 Years Ago Today

Daniel turns 9 today!

This photo is from his 2nd birthday, the first one celebrated with our family. I can't believe that was so long ago!

We went out for donuts for breakfast, and will have German Chocolate Cake at dinner. This weekend we are going to Atlanta to the Lego store, which he picked to do instead of having a party. We will use points from Eddie's travel for a free hotel room, where we will get to swim in the pool!

If you read this, please say a special prayer for Daniel's birth mother. We are certainly glad she gave birth to this wonderful boy so that he could be part of our family!

Snow Days

We got 3 1/2 inches of snow and have had slots of fun sledding and playing. A friend even brought over her skis. While they were many sizes too big, Daniel took a shot at it and once again proved that he is a natural at sports (and not my biological child -- none of that from me -- it's amazing!)

Ice Skating

Crimp in our Style

Emily likes it when I braid her hair at night so it is curly in the morning. Santa gave me a crimping iron to give us another option. Makes me feel like I should be twenty years younger and headed to a rock concert, but why not?

New Years

We had a great family New Years Eve.

We had "snicky snacky" dinner: shrimp; Fritos and bean dip; lime chips and guacamole, Wheat Thins and cream cheese with pepper jelly; grapes; celery with cream cheese; mini pigs-in-a-blanket; denza real (ginger ale) or lemonade.

We played board games and Wii.

The kids stayed up until 9:00. Eddie and I made it to 10:30.

That's a great night at our house!
