Our mission team was charged with bringing aid in the form of pack-n-plays, formula, and diapers.
I am grateful for friends who donated 3 pack-n-plays and many packages of diapers and formula.
The Tennessee part of our team (minus Eddie who was away on business) met on Wednesday night to pack up the donations. We got creative and packaged bundles of 50 pounds or less (plane baggage restrictions) in suitcases, rubbermaid bins, boxes, and shrink wrap! In all we had 400 pounds of aid and a few other miscellaneous items in 8 packages. This meant we would have to pay for 3 extra bags, but we agreed that we couldn't leave things behind just because we would have to pay a baggage fee. (Because we had two separate flights, this ended up costing us $750.)
